Commercial Hazardous Waste Has Its Place... And it's not inside any Livermore Sanitation collection bin.

Hazardous waste can't be thrown out with the garbage, recycling or organics. Before you toss it, check the label. If it's marked Danger, Warning, Poisonous, Toxic, or Flammable, it's probably hazardous. All businesses are required to dispose of hazardous items safely.

You may be eligible to take many hazardous items to Alameda County's local collection facility. Visit StopWaste.org to find out about the County's small business disposal services.

The County accepts the following Hazardous items:

  • Solvents, flammable solids and liquids, and detergents.
  • Propane tanks and aerosol cans.
  • Car and truck products:

    • Oil Filters
    • Antifreeze
  • Lawn care products:
    • Pesticides
    • Herbicides
    • Fungicides
    • Fertilizers
  • Paint and paint-related materials:
    • Stains
    • Varnishes
    • Roofing Tar
    • Adhesives
    • Joint Compounds
    • Other Petroleum-Based Products
  • Swimming Pool Chemicals
